I am delighted to introduce you to our welcoming, community-focused primary school, nestled in the heart of the village near Penrith in Cumbria. We take great pride in fostering a warm, family-like atmosphere where every pupil is known and valued.

At Skelton School, we are driven by a shared vision to nurture confident, capable learners in a caring community. We place great importance on the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our pupils, understanding that a holistic approach to education is essential for their success. Our dedicated team of staff work tirelessly to ensure that each child feels safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. We believe in the importance of stretching minds, bodies, and horizons, offering a well-rounded educational experience that goes beyond the classroom. Additionally, our breakfast club and after-school club provide a safe and enriching environment for pupils outside of regular school hours, further supporting their growth and development.
A Vibrant, Inclusive Community
With just 89 pupils on roll, including our integrated nursery, Skelton School maintains a small, intimate feel that allows us to get to know each child as an individual. Our mixed-age classes foster a strong sense of community, where older pupils act as role models and younger children are encouraged to learn from their peers.
We take great pride in our positive relationships with parents and carers, who are actively engaged in supporting their children's learning and the life of the school. Together, we create a nurturing environment where our pupils feel safe to take risks, explore their creativity, and develop into well-rounded individuals.
A Broad, Ambitious Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire, with a focus on developing the whole child. Alongside core academic subjects, we offer a wide range of enrichment activities, from forest school to sports and the arts, helping our pupils to broaden their horizons and discover their passions.
We have high ambitions for what each of our pupils can achieve, and our committed staff team work together closely to ensure that every child receives the support they need to flourish and succeed. Whether your child is joining us in our nursery, as a new Reception child or transferring from another school, we are committed to providing them with the tools and encouragement they need to become confident, capable learners.
